NABARKU

The NABARAKU cottage in Hakuba, Japan, has been renovated to transform the original wooden structure into a cozy, contemporary mountain retreat. Working together with designer Vojtěch Podlesný, a space was created that builds on the warmth of wood and respects the original construction. Muted earth tones complement the interior, enhancing the peaceful atmosphere of a winter retreat. A striking red accent, inspired by the Japanese symbol of the sun, adds character and a subtle cultural reference to the space. This detail adds character to the space and offers a subtle cultural reference. The result is a place that naturally invites you to enjoy the snow, light, and silence of the mountains before returning to the warmth of the simple, functional, and pleasant interior.
